IOM Conducts Migration Training in Roatan
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in conjunction with the Inter-institutional Commission against Sexual and Commercial Exploitation and Trafficking in Persons in Honduras (CICEST) conducted a training session in Roatan.
"The training was given in order to contribute to the prevention and eradication of this crime that has harmed so many people. We also discussed how to reduce the migration of our Honduran brothers and sisters, and therefore improve the figures of last year," said Likza Salazar, representative of IOM.
He explained that the training is also intended to strengthen the capacities of the institutions involved. During the workshop, members of the Fire Department, Police Department, and directors of the two university centers on the island, among other entities of the island department, were trained.
